A recent report by CommBank revealed the Apple Isle outperformed all other states as the best overall economy - the first time in a decade.

 For the first time since October 2009, Tasmania has taken the sole mantle as Australia's number-one economy in CommBank's 'State of the States' report.

Boy, 11, arrested following police chase across Adelaide suburb

 An 11-year-old boy was arrested after a pursuit in Adelaide's Elizabeth South. A patrol attempted to stop a white Toyota sedan on Philip Highway after police checks revealed the car was allgedly stolen just before 4am today. The car was pursued along John Rice Avenue and Main North Road for a few minutes before it crashed into a tree at the intersection of Montague Road. Australia's childcare centres struggle to pay up to $9,000 for Covid-19 cleaning

The not-for-profit early childcare education sector is struggling to pay up to $9,000 for deep cleaning each time a Covid-19 case is identified, while federal government transition payments may not be enough to keep the sector afloat as parents pull their children out of the system. The United Workers Union’s director for early childhood education, Helen Gibbons, said the one-size-fits-all approach towards the early childcare sector needed a rethink or the community risked losing not-for-profit childcare centres, which comprise just under half of the sector.
