Adelaide Remand Centre worker appears in court accused of stealing prisoners' money

 An Adelaide Remand Centre worker has faced court this afternoon for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 of prisoners' money. 

The accused man, a 47-year-old from Adelaide's western suburbs, was arrested yesterday.

His identity was suppressed by the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

He did not apply for bail.

The Department for Correctional Services will be launching an independent investigation into the theft.
